The Game:


Xianxia Simulator is a game where you play as an average cultivator, trying your best to survive in the cruel cultivation world. You would have to balance your life between cultivating, taking care of your relationship with randomly generated NPC, learning new skills and knowledge, exploring the world, and surviving from everyone and everything that tries to kill you.

Because the game is still very early in development, made by a game dev hobbyist who's doing this for fun, the game is very very far from perfect. You can play them. But right now, almost everything here is a placeholder for something else. So fair warning. You prepare yourself for tons of repeated text, imbalances, typos, bugs, and lack of content.

At the moment, you can't. Maybe in the far future when we have some kind of romance/relationship system.

Almost everything in the game is just placeholder for something. Including the prologue. It probably won't stay the same in the future.

Made an account just to comment. This game is really good, of course, there's still a lot of fixing and work that needs to be done but the potential is there. I've been keeping an eye on this for about a year, and I would definitely see this being a paid game on steam if there's enough content. There's a big audience for these types of games and I wish only success for you since this is really the only good looking cultivation game out there so far.

I apologize, but I changed some stuff like changing webpack to vite and now using Tailwind instead of vanilla CSS. So I'm rewriting codebase while learning new stuff again. Unfortunately, it's still gonna be a while.

Great job bro , last time I played this game was maybe 2 months ago and you improve it very smart like manhwa and manhua  .

I recommend to read tales of demons and god and Magic Emperor to inspire by them and make a great update better than this .

Some ideas for things that could be added to the game (I warn you that it's long as hell and have a questionable English from Google Translate)


1° thing: It would be cool if you could customize your appearance and also have other options for starting the story, something like normal cultivator, Isekai, reincarnation of an immortal and other things. And also like the other guy said, it would be great if there was an option to start with more points, and you could combine this with the backstory options.


2° thing: something like something extra that you get depending on your backstory (example: you chose reincarnation of an immortal and can choose between a special martial art, a unique cultivation technique, the location of a special weapon or something else). then depending on the backstory you choose you have different bonus options, always having the option of starting with nothing.


3° thing: if you could choose your starting elements and level of affinity with each one. depending on your affinity you would have a certain type of special constitution (example: you have maximum fire affinity then you have the constitution of the heavenly flames or something like that). Therefore, depending on your elemental affinities, you could not learn certain techniques or cultivation would be very slow, and the opposite also applies, you would be able to cultivate faster with a technique of the element you have more affinity with. Along with that you can add pills of a certain element that if you consume without having affinity with the elements it wouldn't give you much help besides causing damage to your body, and if you have affinity you would have more effect than with a common pill wue has no elements.


4° thing: a relationship system, where people can like you or hate you, then you can be attacked or bullied by people who don't like you and for people who like you you can ask for things like cultivation guidance if they have a higher level than yours, ask to train with you, help you with missions and other things, lose money or other items and be able to be accepted as a disciple by someone who is in a higher cultivation realm than yours and be able to accept someone as disciple if he is at a lower cultivation realm than yours. In addition to all this being able to have relationships and get married. If you have disciples you can train them and then send them to do missions and collect items and materials for you, and if you have a special NPC as a master you can learn some exclusive technique from them.


5° thing: you can use other types of cultivation, the normal one where you have to meditate and such, Demonic where you have to kill others to get stronger and f And physical cultivation in which you have to do physical training and refine your body to become stronger. Along with that, something like being able to cultivate the dao of weapons such as swords, sabers, spears and other. And just like weapon dao you can cultivate your body dao like fist, palm, kick, etc. 


6° thing: You can do alchemy and make your own pills and elixirs, so you would have to buy, grow or find the necessary ingredients in nature, in addition to having to buy better cauderoes to do higher level things. In addition to alchemy you could also add blacksmithing so you can craft your own cauldrons and weapons. And in addition to all this being able to buy and sell things with money and not just points, the money could be something like spiritual stones or something like that, the higher the level, the more it's worth.


7° thing: Having factions and sects of these factions such as demonic, orthodox and unorthodox, hence you would be limited to which machete you could join depending on which Martial path you follow, If you are a demonic cultivator you can only join unorthodox and demonic factions, if you are a normal cultivator you can only join orthodox and unorthodox factions, and if you are a body cultivator you can be from any faction.


8° thing: would be something like your position in your sect and your faction, the sect ranks would be: outer disciple, inner disciple, elite disciple, core disciple, elder, vice sect leader, sect leader and grand elder, the ranks of the faction would be council member, core member, elder, deputy faction leader and faction leader. In addition to this, there would be the strength ranking, with the ranking of disciples at each level, the ranking of the members of the sect, the strength ranking of each sect in the faction, the ranking of each sect in the world, the ranking of people on each faction and the ranking of people in the world, each ranking would only show the top 100.

Btw you can make different difficulties like normal cultivator(current) and MC(which gets more stat points in the beginning and a chosen super power like super talent or a reincarnation system) and absolute GOD(which gets all maximum stats and all the super powers) you should also add weak and powerful masters and special cultivating and fighting techniques!

Maybe also add dungeons and options to forfeit the sect and join another and more options to stop slavery or start slaving people!

I just thought that since it's a world where the strong eat the weak the MC could adapt to there ideas about slavery but I guess it would be more interesting if the MC fought against slavery (AKA thousands of years of traditions)

Also, how do I progress after level 2 of breathing cultivation? 

Bugs:

- slave event, it forces "make a choice", but there is no choice offered (I failed both Charm and whatever second check was)

Requests:

- on slave event, to not intervene. Being forced into a scenario is really something game should avoid.

- will we have a proper protagonist superpower for cultivation, or is it a "normal" cultivator simulator? Both can be fun.

- somehow highlight save button? I am still not sure how to save.

A: If you're asking about getting "decision-locked", then depending on your resolution, it might be hidden under the toolbar. For this version, you can hide the toolbar using keyboard shortcut "H" or even change the text size using the "setting".  

Q: on slave event, to not intervene. Being forced into a scenario is really something game should avoid.

A: Almost all event still need to be improved, so yeah, there will be choice in the future. Including the servant event. Even the stat check was a new improved thing from the previous version. Hopefully, it will be more robust and better as I keep working on the game.

A: In the future (not sure when), you will have the options to pick which one you prefer. But the "Novel MC" route would have harder difficulty.

A: You can only save in your "home" screen. It should be screen with Your Name - Year.

Seen it on reddit. Have a potential but its too hard dude i cant pass 5th stage. You should definitly add rebirth mechanic that gives game rogulike mechanic. Waiting for new uptades...

You can find the save option, only at your "Home" screen and no other place.

The game is hard, but some testers do reached the max cultivation stage for v.0.1 version (which is 7th stage of Qi Condensation). To be fair, I also only managed to reach 6th on my best run. But there are better players than me 😊

Rebirth mechanic is planned, but still far in the future. I am doing this in my spare time. Still need to learn more game design and programming, and add more things to the game before I reach that.

You can add something like for every stage you achieved you have 1 more extra point for next run.

spend all points on your root and one on comprehension, get the manual to level 3 as soon as possible, max your sanity and do enought missions to have always 3 points, after you maxed your sanity just put 30/50 days to mantain it and try not doing quests that require sanity, spend all the time you have remaining on cultivating and save every so that when the waterfall event happens you can load back and try it again till you don't succed in gaining the bonus

P.S breaktrought as soon as possible, you can load the previos save to try till you don't succed

To reach qi gathering 7 this is one of the only metods so it makes sense

Just a single use. And the higher your cultivation stage, the effect would decrease.

Your Body attribute. And you get a slight increase every time you breakthrough to another stage.

This is very neat. I look forward to when the reincarnation/new game + is added. The idea of starting with someone who lacks skill at most things and then building them up over multiple lives seems fun and an excellent way to provide a balance between the desire to play someone powerful and the practicality of starting weak.

I loved the new update, now the game is coming along perfectly! I look forward to a future where i will be a badass immortal, also i found a bug, in the event where the servant is getting a beating and you can try to speak up, try diplomacy or do nothing, if you do nothing the game keeps telling you to choose an option, but you already chose one, so you get locked without being able to progress

Ah, its probably because you need to pick the option "continue". It might hidden under the toolbar or something like that. You can press "h" to hide it 😊 

On the top bar, on the link called "shortcut" there's a list of keyboard shortcut you can use.

If you're using mobile or something, other players reported they could fix this by changing the font size.

I apologize for the bug but yeah, the UI will get more polish in the future updates 😊

How much lifespan does the herb increase?

it's not fixed, it varies depending on your physical attribute and other factors. the better your physical, the better the effects.

Wabbit, the game is solid. Sad that I can't pick a bit more about how my character appears, outside of fate point allocation (and that is only with pretty or ugly, not height or hair stuff); outside of that,  Mentality is much better, thank you so much for making it easier not to go insane.

I do have a question about what Body has to apply to; as I started, my points (money) were super low for any Physical challenges, and though I spent 30+ years getting my Mentality up and was Green on everything, and even had fifty-fifty on breakthrough it didn't seem to apply to any of the challenges and felt like I should have spent more of my time or points on Mentality or Potentially.

With that aside, it is very clean. Love the style you've built, and can't wait for the next update!

Height and most genetic material would always be randomize. But... I might consider if we should have a randomize button that allows player could just randomize over and over again, to get the description that they want.

Hairstyle... I could put a way to customize that in the future. Not sure when, but this should be doable. Probably about the same time when I start adding clothing.

Body applies to all things Physical. That includes, basic lifespan, your physical stat, and some event check.

Potential atm affects how fast you cultivate, your breakthrough chance and your qi growth. In the future, it will become even more important.

I have a lot of plan for the game, but I'm still learning things. Hopefully, I could make it better in the future 😊

give us a slight bit more points , or maybe add a console cheatcode to add them since i wanna be an average xianxia protag in something but not be as dumb as a brick in comprehension

I really like this, i needed a xianxia game for ages and now there is one!
So i'm really looking forward to where this goes, finished one playthrough and despite how bare bones the content is, i really see the potential
So please please please don't give up on this game, the world needs a game like this

Here's a few suggestions i'd like to point out based on my playthrough, sorry if any of these are included in the roadmap:

1. add how much your stats actually changed at the end of the year window, like sure, i can check it myself, but alot more convinient either way.

2. add tooltips or slight explanations for what the stats do and what activities they are utilized for.

3. Display the lifespan of a character.

4. Add enlightment events when you allocate time for cultivation, like gaining elightment increases progress more, and the lower your mind is, the less chance of this happening.

5. Make it so the success rate of the assignments changes based on your stats, and make difficulty levels for them, so higher difficulty as a result of  lower stats means less chance at success.

6. Psyche and comprehension could be one stat as "intelligence", that affects the same stuff both the stats did, adding onto that, add a 'mental state' or 'mood' attribute instead, which will actually influence breakthrough chance

5. This is also on the plan. Might be in v.0.1.2 or the next after.

6. Psyche and comprehension is a bit different. Psyche is somewhat similar to Willpower while Comprehension is Intelligent. And psyche would affect your divine sense, which in the future would have higher role to play. While comprehension might also have other mechanic that I'm planning to add in the future. So those two need to be different.

Mental State (we already have that in the game) is major influence in breakthrough chance. Which is I always recommend player to try to have a decent mental state.

But yeah, thank you so much for giving an in depth suggestion. I hope you'll keep coming back for future updates 👍

You don't have to restart, you just have to pick one of the option. If you can't see it because its hidden under the toolbar or something like that, you can press "h" to hide it 😊

this problem would be fixed in v.0.11 and player don't need to have to hide the toolbar.

Didn't realize I forgot to reply haha, I was on mobile so hiding the toolbar isn't possible but I played around with the setting and figured it out myself. (If anyone else needs it, change the font size to 140% and the "continue" option will peek out a bit behind the toolbar.) Thanks for answering! I had fun with what's been added, can't wait for the next update!

Not really sure how to answer that. Because as the developer, I can't really be objective. Code-wise, is much bigger in comparison to the v.0.0.6. But yeah, you would get better answer from testers and supporters concerning this :)

Yeah, it's more because my old laptop just broke. It was so old that the repair shop had to hunt for cannibalized part from other broken laptop. That took months. And when that was done, I just went back to close door cultivation and worked on v.0.1

This game probably never gonna be on steam, it should be free whenever its ready. But if I make another game, I might put it on steam :)

Managing my mood is such a pain. I try to leave enough time aside for mental health, but no matter what I do I keep falling into depression. Sometimes I manage to recover, but only by completely stalling everything else I try to do. And often as not, even those extreme measures don't seem to do anything.

I'm having similar problems in the game.

I'm sorry to hear that. It is a pain. Even I myself struggled with it. 

It was a game design decision I made because of my inexperience when I worked on that version. It would change in the next version.

To be clear: While I do have depression and it is a pain, I was mostly describing a game issue and then making a bait-and-switch joke about my mental health.

Oh, I was talking about the game too, not an actual depression (now I'm really sorry).

Because I myself struggle with the game (I do play my own game). And while I realized it was hard, I like the challenge and decided not to dwell on it and put it on the list of things to be added for the next version.

So, yeah the next v.0.1 has a different mechanic than v.0.0.6 for Mental State. Hopefully you will like the change.
