Xianxia Simulator v.0.1
Greetings fellow Daoists,
We're finally here! After months of toil, endless cups of sad-looking coffee, and way too many coding-induced hair-pulling sessions, Xianxia Simulator v0.1 is now up!
First of all, let me get this out of the way. Xianxia Simulator 0.1 is very unfinished. It lacks content, is amateurish, and just screamed made by a newbie. About a year ago, I started this project with no knowledge of programming or video game development.
But I didn't care. I just went on and did it. I later took a CS course, stumbling through the lectures like a lost disciple in the Western Forest being chased by Lord Fifth (ignore the ISSTH reference).
And honestly, I love doing it. I really like learning how to code, game design, UI design, writing and basically everything. I regret not doing it sooner and I intend to continue doing it.
So I thank you for your support and patience, fellow Daoists. The game is now up, and if you're interested, there are also 5 slots open for v.0.1.1 testing via discord or you can become a Ko-Fi supporter.
Until next time.
Sincerely,
Captain Wabbit

Bug report, or at least UX report: Apparent softlock on long event.
The only button that does anything (other than bring up a menu with inactive or irrelevant buttons) is Continue, and that tells me I need to pick an option. Eventually, I realize that there's a separate "Continue" option-text behind the menu bar. It's barely visible, and I can't scroll down to it; I have to check the shortcuts and realize you can hide that menu bar, after noticing the text behind a slightly translucent layer. And some other text that is fully opaque.
The best solution would probably be the ability to scroll slightly further down, so you can see Continue without needing to intuit that important gameplay buttons can be hidden behind UI.
Also, said senior brother is referred to as "she" exactly once in this passage. Unless his victim ran away really fast, and my character was distracted by her speed long enough for the senior brother to kick the crap out of me.
Congratulations !
Glad to see that you are return to game year after. It was a long way. Good luck with this.
thank you 😄
