Limited testing for v.0.1

Dear fellow Daoist,

I hope everyone has been well, and I would like to start by offering my apology for the long wait. The old "lappy" encountered yet another breakdown, and it took me quite some time to fix her. She is, what the person from the repair shop called, living on borrowed time.

Well anyway, the v.0.1 is almost done, and I will be releasing it in a few days. At the moment I'm just testing and hunting for bugs. Maybe add something that I forgot to put for some reason.

But there's a catch. The version is gonna be only accessible for supporters (check my ko-fi page) and some of itch followers. Why? Well, you can read about the reasoning here on the ko-fi post and check out some of screenshots for the release. It is a public post and anyone can read it.

How do I get access?

If you're interested in trying things out, you can rate the game first here on itch.io and then ask me on x/twitter so I can message you the password/key when the update is LIVE.

And hey, while it would be nice if you rate a 5 (I'll like you more, and it helps the algorithm), but please don't rate the game a 3. It will not help the algorithm. It's even better not to rate at all.

What about if you already rated the game even way before. Then, you can just ask me on twitter. I will put the first 10 players on the list and message them the key/password to access it. Do tell me what's your itch username on twitter, when you message me.

Why?

Because I want at least people who actually like the game to try it first.

What about the public release?

The public release for v0.1 would be available when I'm releasing the next major update. By that time, v0.1 would at least, free of most bugs.

What if I don't want to do that? That seems too convoluted.

I agree. You don't have to. The game is unfinished, unbalanced, and a buggy mess of a game, made by me, a hobbyist game dev who does this for fun. I don't even have late-game content (or even enough content for that matter). You're not missing much.

And... there you go. I know not many people read dev logs, or even play the game. So it's very possible, that nobody gonna read this or even asks for access. Which would be embarrassing and I get less feedback. But, if you are interested, you know what to do.

Sincerely,

Captain Wabbit

Reached the 6th stage of Qi Condensation at the age of 94.

I thought that you gave up on the game, glad you didn't.

I probably will keep the project alive. If I'm too busy, or dealing with something (like broken laptop for example), making other game, or even, feeling bored, I just stop for a while, and then pick it up when I recharged and ready to add more things. think of this like a marathon, I'll just add things up as I learn and got more ideas :)

Discord when... hmmm

That's probably not gonna happen. I just don't have time. Would you rather me developing the game, or maintaining a discord channel? It's a lot of work. Maybe later if the community got bigger and we have volunteers :)

Ye, you should focus on the game.

I checked the game every so often, but mostly I just had Captain Wabbit followed.

Also I'd love to playtest it, but I don't have a twitter account. Good luck with the game and I'll look forward to the next release.
